How exactly does TravelID work?
TravelID is a QR and NFC contact point you attach to your luggage with the metal loop. A finder scans the code or taps it via NFC, picks a topic, writes a message — and it's forwarded to you encrypted, without your number ever being visible. You decide whether and how to reply.
Do my address and phone number really stay private?
Yes, absolutely. There's nothing personal on the TravelID — no name, no address, no number. Unlike a classic address tag, it reveals nothing about you to strangers. Communication runs through our GDPR-compliant platform; you keep full control.
What if the finder doesn't speak German?
No problem. The finder page appears automatically in six languages — whoever finds your suitcase at the airport in Madrid or Bangkok sees it in their own language or in English, and can reach you with a few taps.
Do I need NFC, or is the QR code enough?
Both work. Whoever holds a newer smartphone up to the TravelID opens the finder page via NFC; everyone else simply scans the QR code with their camera. Either way, the finder needs neither an app nor an account.
Are there any ongoing costs?
No. The TravelID costs €24.99 once (volume prices from 2 units), and the Starter plan stays free forever. Premium and Family are optional — the plan comparison is right above these questions.

Does the TravelID survive baggage transport?

Yes — within 30 days of receipt, as long as the TravelID hasn't been activated yet. On activation it's permanently linked to your account and personalised, so check the fit and the loop before activating. If you return only part of a set, the volume discount is recalculated for the quantity you keep (details in the cancellation policy). For defects, the statutory two-year warranty applies.
Does it work abroad too?
Yes, that's exactly what it's made for. The QR code, NFC and the multilingual finder page work worldwide. WhatsApp and email only need an internet connection, and SMS works while roaming.
Can I manage several TravelIDs — or TravelID and DriveID — under one account?
Yes — as many IDs as you like with one shared plan. Handy for the whole family's travel luggage: in a set of three, one TravelID is completely free (you save the full €24.99). If you already have a DriveID, the TravelID simply goes into the same dashboard — everything central, one login.
