How the report works
A finder scans the tag with their ordinary camera and sees the profile: name, temperament and your notes. They pick "pet found" or "pet seen", write briefly — and you get the message via WhatsApp, SMS or email, with the find location as a map link.
Does the PetID replace the microchip?
No, it complements it. Only a vet or an animal shelter can read the chip with a scanner — the PetID can be read by anyone with a smartphone. Chip for the worst case, PetID for the quick way back. Everything about the PetID.

When will the PetID be available again?
Does the PetID replace the microchip?
No — it complements it. The microchip is the permanent identification, but only a vet or an animal shelter can read it with a scanner. The PetID can be read by anyone with a smartphone: the neighbour, the passer-by out for a walk, the jogger. That way it needn't even come to the shelter in the first place.
How is the PetID different from an engraved pet tag?
An engraving shows one fixed snapshot — after a move or a new number it leads nowhere. The PetID stays current: what the finder sees, you maintain in the dashboard — name, temperament, quirks, emergency notes — instead of having a new tag engraved. And the report reaches you straight away, not only when someone happens to dial the right number.
Isn't a GPS tracker on the collar enough?
The two answer different questions. The tracker shows you a position — as long as the battery is alive and the subscription is running. The PetID needs no power and gives the person who found your pet a direct line to you. Many owners use both: the tracker for searching, the PetID for being found.
Can I see where my pet was found?
Yes: when sending, the finder shares their location with one tap — the spot then appears as an address with a map link right in your notification. Even a "seen" report with a location helps your search enormously.
Are there any ongoing costs?
No. The PetID costs €24.99 once, and the Starter plan stays free forever (incl. WhatsApp). Premium and Family are optional — one plan covers all your IDs. Details in the plan comparison.
