Why the TravelID exists
The classic address tag demands an impossible choice: give everything away — or nothing.
Every luggage tag asks the same question: what do you write on it? Your address — so anyone at the baggage carousel can read where you live and that you're not home right now? Or nothing — and your suitcase stays mute exactly when it needs you most?
And yet the starting point is actually good: whoever finds someone else's luggage almost always wants to return it. But a wall stands between them and you — lost-property offices, forms, jurisdictions, language barriers. And the higher the wall, the more likely the suitcase ends up on a shelf instead of back with you.

The technology behind it
Three stops lie between the finder at the baggage carousel and the message on your phone — none of them needs an app, and none needs them to speak your language.
Step 01
The ordinary phone camera recognises the QR code; newer smartphones open the page just by tapping it via NFC. What appears is deliberately plain: what's this about? A few topics, a text field, one button — automatically in six languages, no download, no account.
Step 02
The message travels encrypted via servers in Germany and the EU and is passed on to you. The finder never learns who you are, where you live or how to reach you directly.
Step 03
On the channel you've chosen: WhatsApp, email or optionally SMS. If the finder shares their location when scanning, the find location comes right along in the message — as an address with a map link. Replies travel back the same way — through SilentLink — until the handover is set.
